Firstly, I want to congratulate everyone on the launch of our open forum for Quilibrium. I understand that Farcast is another option, but to be honest, a forum with clear titles will make it much easier for people to filter through unnecessary content. It will also simplify the process of finding actual solutions and reporting common setup bugs earlier for both volunteers and communities.
Secondly, I hope this forum will uphold the principle of “freedom of speech”. I understand that volunteers have spent a lot of their time building this community, and they do not want people to spread Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (FUD). However, I was removed from the community Telegram group after I expressed that “a decentralized project should not only have an internal Telegram group”. One of the admins accused me of spreading FUD. Therefore, I hope this forum will be more open than that.
Thirdly, I believe it’s important for us, as a community, to express our thoughts or ideas clearly to the Quilibrium team. This will make it easier for Quilibrium Inc. to understand what the community wants or is driven by.
Finally, I want to express my gratitude once again to all the volunteers who have helped us during this amazing journey. Long live the internet!
I’m not sure what happened regarding the specific community Telegram you are referring to – I am not involved with any group chats besides the Node Runners TG due to the same important rule that we hold here: no price/speculation discussions. I am a huge advocate for freedom of speech, and it immensely frustrates me that one of the important components of a commodity cannot be discussed, but it is crucial given lack of regulatory clarity and is the safest measure we can take.
Regarding an “internal Telegram group”, I must admit I am quite surprised that I have been hearing people saying this recently – practically anyone who has asked me or others (to my knowledge) to be invited in has been invited in, the Node Runners telegram allows any member to add others – and again, this relates significantly to the way communications have been poorly handled by letting things fragment into separate communities. I hope this Discourse forum helps give a best-of-both-worlds setup so that people do not feel unheard.
The truth is, the people in the so-called “internal telegram group” are taking significant advantages and tend to exclude others.
They have access to the latest updates directly from the source of truth (you), and they can ask you questions directly. What we see is only what they choose to share, and even worse, they may share inaccurate or incorrect information, which we have no way to verify.
Here are two widely spread but incorrect examples:
Daily commission is always 300M before version 2.0.
The reward amounts are final, and even the developers cannot change them.
I have never gained access to that group despite speaking to a few members. Whenever I had a question, they would politely say, “I can ask for you.” However, I never know if the answer is correct or if it came directly from you.
Thankfully, I can communicate with you through this forum now, and I hope you will post any important updates here. While I know you make some announcements on Warpcast, not everything important is covered there. For instance, you did not post anything about v1.4.19 (and p1) on Warpcast.
